Under the Prakritik Kheti Khushal Yojna in the state, a one-day farmer discussion was organized on January 4 at the University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni to share their experiences with the farmers who have adopted natural farming and to know about the problems faced by them. On this occasion 852 farmers of five districts Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Bilaspur and Una directly interacted with Hon'ble Governor Acharya Devvrat ji and informed him about their experiences. State Project Director of Prakritik Kheti Khushal Yojna, Mr. Rakesh Kanwar was also present on this occasion. He said that efforts are being made to make available the right market for the food and vegetables grown under this farming method. He said that it is very important to have indigenous breed of cow in this farming system, hence a scheme is being prepared by the government in this direction also. Rakesh Kanwar said that recently in the meeting of NITI Aayog on January 2, Himachal Pradesh has been appreciated by the Vice Chairman of the Commission for starting this scheme and he has recommended to start natural farming in the whole country.
Project Director of Gramin Haat Pratikriti Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana to be built in district and block level Rakesh Kanwar said that under this scheme, a plan is being prepared to provide cows and equipment to the farmers. Apart from this, he said that rural haats would be prepared in every district and block to market the grains and vegetables of the farmers.
